Ride-hailing platform Rapido has launched its new food delivery app ‘Ownly’ in the Indian market. With this move, Rapido is now ready to give a direct competition to big companies like Swiggy and Zomato in the field of food delivery.
Features of ‘Ownly’: Zero-commission model
According to reports, ‘Ownly’ is a zero-commission platform, which will not charge any commission from the restaurant. Platforms like Swiggy and Zomato usually charge 16-30% commission from the restaurant, while ‘Ownly’ will instead charge a fixed delivery fee per order.
The aim of this model is to provide food to customers at affordable prices like the offline market. The company claims that items like rice and eggs will be available on this app for less than ₹ 100, making it a great option for customers with a low budget.
Currently available in Bengaluru
The ‘Ownly’ app is currently available only on Google Play Store and its services are limited to select areas of Bengaluru, such as Koramangala, HSR and BTM Layout.
